On my Bolivia photo tour, I will take you to one of the most photogenic and captivating countries in South America. Without exaggeration, the Andean country is one of the most diverse<\/strong> and spectacular<\/strong> travel destinations on the planet. Epic landscapes with jagged peaks, colorful lagoons, bubbling geysers and snow-capped volcanoes await us. We will photograph llamas and alpacas as well as their wild relatives, the vicu\u00f1as, against spectacular mountain backdrops and lose ourselves in the vastness of the “Salar de Uyuni” salt desert.<\/p>

In Bolivia’s lively cities, we immerse ourselves in traditional life and let ourselves drift amidst the deafening hustle and bustle. At the bizarre witches’ market in the “Calle de las brujas” in La Paz, we learn about centuries-old traditions and the cult surrounding Pachamama, Mother Earth. Nowhere else is the heritage of pre-Colombian cultures so strongly lived and preserved as here. Although the Bolivians are for the most part strictly Catholic, they still cultivate their ancient customs intensively and with great conviction.<\/p>

For all my photo tours, it’s important to me to offer a comprehensive range at a fair price. I don’t believe in luxury trips with utopian prices, nor do I believe in price dumping at the expense of the local population and local partners or the safety of my participants.<\/p>

On our photo tour through Bolivia, we cover all the important highlights and offer a high level of individual support. The trip is planned in such a way that we have enough time to take photos and arrive at the respective photo spots at the best time.<\/p>

The tour price for 3 weeks is \u20ac 3,999, – per person in a double room<\/strong> for 9-10 participants. For 6-8 participants we have to charge a small group surcharge of \u20ac 500, –<\/strong> , the trip then comes to \u20ac 4,499, – per person<\/strong> in a double room.<\/p>

As with all my trips, “shared double rooms”<\/strong> are available on request, i.e. two travelers of the same sex can share a room and thus avoid the single room supplement. Of course, single rooms are also possible, in which case the supplement is a fair \u20ac 400, – per person<\/strong>.<\/p>

The tour price includes carefully selected middle class accommodation<\/strong>, 20x breakfast<\/strong>, 12x lunch<\/strong> and 9x dinner<\/strong>. Also included are all transfers<\/strong>, domestic flights<\/strong>, boat trips<\/strong>, entrance fees<\/strong> to the national parks, local guides<\/strong> and photographic support<\/strong> throughout the trip.<\/p>

Not included are all other meals and the international flight as well as extra activities, tips, souvenirs and any costs for visas. The next Bolivia photo tour<\/strong> will take place in May 2027. It takes three weeks and is planned so that we can visit the Altiplano and the salt desert “Salar de Uyuni” around the new moon<\/strong>. This gives us a good chance of photographing a breathtaking night sky, including the Milky Way, in addition to the spectacular natural scenery. Thanks to the low light pollution, the Bolivian highlands are considered one of the best places in the world for astrophotography and photographing the Milky Way.<\/p>

This national park is characterized by its diverse flora and fauna and is known for its species-rich bird population. The first excursion into the park’s cloud forests takes place in the afternoon. Day 2 (May 24, 2027):<\/strong> We can enjoy another day in the beautiful Amboro National Park. Together with our local guide, we hike through the park and keep an eye out for the local flora and fauna. Another overnight stay in the Volcanes refuge. (B,L,D)<\/p>

Day 3 (May 25, 2027):<\/strong> We leave our accommodation early in the morning and make our way to the starting point of today’s hike “Codo de los Andes”. We enjoy wonderful views of the untouched nature of the national park and, with a bit of luck, even spot a mighty Andean condor. \u00a0<\/p>

We then drive to Samaipata and visit the 3,500-year-old fort of Samaipata. This Inca ruin site has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1998. The guided tour lasts around two hours, after which we drive to the airport in Santa Cruz and take the evening flight to Sucre. Day 4 (May 26, 2027):<\/strong> City tour in the enchanting white city of Sucre and visit of the most important sights with a guide. The beautiful colonial city is located at an altitude of 2,800 m, so we can already start acclimatizing to the unfamiliar elevation. Our hotel is one of the most beautiful in the city and offers wonderful opportunities for architectural photography. We will experience the sunset today on the roof of a beautiful monastery with wonderful views over the white city. (B)<\/p>

Day 5 (May 27, 2027):<\/strong> The morning is at leisure to visit the enchanting Sucre and its well-kept colonial buildings on your own. At midday, a private transfer will take us from Sucre to the silver city of Potos\u00ed. On the way (at about 3,500 m altitude) there is an old hacienda with an adjoining museum where we will spend the night. (B)<\/p>

Day 6 (May 28, 2027):<\/strong> After breakfast, we drive to the silver city of Potos\u00ed. We explore the most important sights, such as the Casa de la Moneda, where we learn about the importance of Potos\u00ed in colonial times and the production of silver coins. In the afternoon, we visit the old mines where silver and other minerals are still mined and learn a lot about the customs, culture and even the devil that, according to legend, lives in the mines. That’s why we go to the local market first, where we buy alcohol, coca leaves and tobacco so that we don’t have to face the devil empty-handed. (B)<\/p>

Day 7 (May 29, 2027):<\/strong> Our tour into the Altiplano, Bolivia’s beautiful highlands, starts from Potos\u00ed. From today, we will immerse ourselves in every bizarre landscape that makes the country so incomparable. We will finally photograph llamas, marvel at the meter-high cacti and visit a railroad cemetery in Uyuni. In the afternoon, we drive along dusty sandy tracks to our small accommodation in Villa Mar, the perfect starting point for exploring Avaroa National Park the next day. (B,L,D)<\/p>

Day 8 (May 30, 2027):<\/strong> Today is all about the colorful lagoons in the highlands. We will visit Laguna Verde, whose water shimmers emerald green in the sun. This eventful day also includes a visit to the world-famous Laguna Colorada with its flamingos, a thermal bath at an altitude of 4,500 m, fuming geysers and a detour to the Dal\u00ed desert. With the “Sol de Ma\u00f1ana” geysers, we will reach the highest point of our trip today at almost 5,000 m above sea level. We will spend the night in a luxurious desert hotel. (B,L,D)<\/p>

Day 9 & 10 (May 31 & June 1, 2027):<\/strong> Two more days of colorful lagoons and bizarre landscapes await us. We will photograph thousands of pink flamingos in Laguna Hedionda and, with a bit of luck, see vizcachas, a local chinchilla species. We will spend the first night in a cozy eco hotel at Laguna Hedionda, on day 10 we will stay in a simple salt hotel near San Juan. Day 11 (June 2, 2027):<\/strong> Today, a visit to the world-famous salt desert “Salar de Uyuni” is on the program. Incomparable landscapes and breathtaking photo opportunities await us in the largest salt lake on earth. We will spend almost the whole day in this desert and visit the cactus island “Isla Incahuasi”, where we will go on a short hike. The highlight is the sunset in the salt lake at the foot of the Tunupa volcano. Overnight stay in a salt hotel in Jirira. (B,L,D)<\/p>

Day 12 (June 3, 2027): <\/strong> It\u2019s time to leave the Salar de Uyuni salt desert behind us and head north. We pass snow-capped volcanoes on our way to the highest mountain in Bolivia, the Sajama. The drive to the Sajama National Park is long, but the numerous scenic views along the way make up for the effort. We will spend the night in a simple hotel in Sajama National Park, surrounded by a spectacular panorama of snow-capped volcanoes. Day 13 (June 4, 2027): <\/strong> In the beautiful morning light, we take photos of the magnificent landscapes of Sajama National Park. Afterwards, we will take a scenic drive from Sajama National Park to La Paz in around 4 hours, taking in many stunning photo opportunities. The lively metropolis is located at 3,800 m above sea level and is the highest seat of government in the world. Before we drive to the hotel, we make a detour to a viewpoint and take photos of the city lights in the blue hour. Overnight stay in a hotel close to the city center. (B, L)<\/p>

Day 14 (June 5, 2027):<\/strong> La Paz is a city of superlatives. Built up to the last square meter, chaotic, loud and constantly on the verge of total gridlock. Getting your bearings in the deafening hustle and bustle of La Paz presents visitors with unforeseen challenges; it’s not easy to keep track of everything. Together with our guide, we plunge into the hustle and bustle and explore this chaotic but charming city. A visit to the moon valley “Valle de la luna” and a ride on the cable car are also included in today\u2019s program.

Day 15 (June 6, 2027):<\/strong> Together with our local guide, we will take a private transfer to Copacabana, where we will go on a short sightseeing tour of the city. We will then cross Lake Titicaca by boat to the sunny island “Isla del sol”. In good weather, spectacular views of the Cordillera del Rey await us. Overnight stay in a beautiful lodge on the island of the sun. (B)<\/p>

Day 16 (June 7, 2027):<\/strong> After a leisurely breakfast, a full day awaits us on Isla del Sol for hiking, relaxing or shopping for souvenirs. We may also take a trip to the neighboring Moon Island. In the evening, we take photos of the sunset from a viewpoint near the accommodation. (B)<\/p>

Day 17 (June 8, 2027):<\/strong> Morning hike on the sun island. Afterwards we take the boat back to Copacabana, from there we return to La Paz. Day 18 (June 9, 2027): <\/strong> A short flight takes us from La Paz to Cochabamba, where our private transfer is already waiting to take us to Toro Toro National Park. True to the motto “The journey is the reward”, we will stop wherever we like and take photos. We might even go for a short hike. We will spend the night in a beautiful eco-lodge with a fantastic view and excellent cuisine. (B,L,D)<\/p>

Day 19 (June 10, 2027):<\/strong> A full day in the beautiful Toro Toro National Park. The park is known for its cave systems, scenic hiking trails and mystical waterfalls. There are also fossilized dinosaur tracks to discover on the hikes. (B,L,D)<\/p>

Day 20 (June 11, 2027):<\/strong> After a morning tour in the park and a light lunch, we will be taken back to Cochabamba by a private transfer. Day 1 (June 12, 2027):<\/strong> You will drive to El Alto airport, from where a small propeller plane takes you to Rurrenabaque in 45 minutes. You will enjoy breakfast in Rurrenabaque before a jeep takes you over dusty tracks into the pampas. After a simple lunch, you change to a boat and head deep into the Bolivian pampas. You will see a variety of animals such as crocodiles, caimans, capybaras, monkeys, turtles and much more. In the afternoon you will arrive at the charming lodge, where you will spend the night. The program includes a beautiful sunset and a night excursion to observe caimans and other nocturnal animals. (B,L,D)<\/p>

Day 2 (June 13, 2027):<\/strong> Another day in the pampas. After breakfast, armed with rubber boots, you will set off in search of the infamous anacondas (weather permitting). Lunch at the lodge before you take a trip on the river in the afternoon to swim with pink dolphins. You will spend the night at the jungle lodge again. (B,L,D)<\/p>

Day 3 (June 14, 2027): <\/strong> Today you will take another boat trip on the Yacuma River in the early morning. After lunch, you will return to Rurrenabaque by boat and jeep and later take the plane to La Paz, where you will land in the evening. Overnight stay in La Paz.
